| After raising her children and coming to a point in her life in which she was able to share her amazing eye for fine gifts and collectibles, Gina Williams brought her vision of Hucklebeary Hollow to life. An adorable store filled with everything from collectible Department 56 lit villages and Snowbabies, purses, candles and dishes to picture frames, teddy bears and home décor. Hucklebeary Hollow was a store that you found something new with each visit.
Hucklebeary Hollow was opened as a "bricks and mortar" store in The Old Town Grainery near downtown Mount Vernon in April 1999. Loving the charm and warm environment of the building, Hucklebeary Hollow was expanded to twice the space after a year. In search of more foot-traffic and a larger customer base, Hucklebeary Hollow was moved to downtown Mount Vernon in 2002, doubling in space once again.
After 7 years in business, Gina decided to retire and spend more time with family, friends and do more traveling. While still loving her store and the satisfaction of bringing customers wonderful products, she was not enjoying the hours or time commitment a traditional retail store was requiring. Gina had been trying to get Hucklebeary Hollow on the "information superhighway" of the Internet for a few years by offering items from her inventory, initially on a simple store web page; but found that she couldn't dedicate the time it took to have a successful e-commerce business along with a traditional retail store. Not wanting to shutter the doors of Hucklebeary Hollow completely, Gina decided by putting her efforts into having Hucklebeary Hollow be a complete e-commerce store; she would be able to have a flexible schedule and keep Hucklebeary Hollow. She will continue to update her store, so please check back often.
